Teacher Toolkit Training

Thank you for choosing to join teachers and administrators from across the nation in empowering young people to be active in our democracy.  By creating a culture of voting and civic-mindedness among your high school students, you are enabling them to make a true difference in their communities and the world in which we live.

Our mission is to transform young leaders’ inspiration into action that improves our communities and strengthens our democracy.

Inspire's Teacher Toolkit aims to amplify the voices of young people as they approach their first vote. Young adults consistently have the lowest voter turnout despite the fact that 18 to 29 year-olds constitute the largest age demographic in the country. Is it because the issues we face don’t pertain to them?  Hardly.  Whether we’re addressing the environment, jobs and the economy, college affordability, or a multitude of issues, they have the most at stake...today, tomorrow and for years to come.  The sooner they grasp the power of their vote, the better.  The more they exercise their right to vote, the stronger our democracy becomes.

We're pleased and excited to offer high school level teachers from Denver Public School the opportunity to learn and practice the modules of the toolkit and collaborate with Inspire CO in its mission to amplify young voices.  This training includes an overview of each module of our toolkit, creating an action plan with students on what these mini-lessons will look like in their classrooms, and the process of working with Inspire to collect voter registration materials.  This is an ongoing process that includes follow up for voter education and Get Out the Vote in a nonpartisan and student-led way.

A certificate of completion will be granted to educators for pd credit hours.  Lunch is provided.
